Ever since Pierre Bokma left the Toneelschool Maastricht in 1982, he has amazed and seduced audiences with a dizzying array of very different roles. Pierre has appeared on stage with Globe, Het Publiekstheater, Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Orkater, De Mexicaanse Hond, the Nationaal Toneel, free productions with Hummelinck Stuurman and Bos Theaterproducties and foreign companies such as NTGent in Belgium as well as the Münchner Kammerspiele and Schauspielhaus Bochum in Germany.
He received various prestigious awards such as the Albert van Dalsum ring in 1993, his first Louis d'Or (for ‘Richard III’) in 1994, the Paul Steenbergen medal in 2002 and the Arlecchino (for ‘Rouw siert Elektra’) in 2004. In 2013, he received another Louis d'Or for his role in 'De Verleiders'. He was awarded the Johan Kaart Prize in 2019 for his roles in '#Niksteverbergen' and 'Een Man Een Man'.
Bokma also performed in the improv program 'De Vloer Op', with satirical sketches in 'Kanniewaarzijn' and popular TV series such as ''t Schaep' (Beeld en Geluid Award for Best Actor), ‘Bloedverwanten', 'De Prooi' (TV Beeld Beste Hoofdrol), 'Rundfunk', the 'Welkom-series' of Niek Barendsen, 'Mocro Maffia' and in international TV series such as 'Tatort' (Germany) and 'Dalziel & Pascoe' (UK).
Pierre also voiced many film productions, documentaries and radio plays, such as the Genie in the Disney production 'Aladdin and the Revenge of Jafar'.

In addition, Pierre has a considerable track record as a film actor. 'Leedvermaak' (1989) was the first time Pierre took on a leading role. He would subsequently play the character of Nico two more times for director Frans Weisz, in Qui Vive! and 'Happy End'. He worked with many well-known film directors: Fons Rademakers (De Aanslag), Alex van Warmerdam (Ober, Borgman, Schneider vs. Bax, Nr.10 ), Orlow Seunke (Gordel van Smaragd), Theo van Gogh (Interview), Willem van de Sande Bakhuyzen (Cloaca), Dick Maas (Moordwijven, Quiz), Paula van der Oest (Tonio), Maurice Trouwborst (Captain Nova), Antoinette Beumer (Mijn vader is een vliegtuig) and Tim Mielants (De Patrick). His first foreign role was in Ulrich Köhler's film ‘Schlafkrankheit’ (2011).
Pierre won an International Emmy Award for his portrayal of a religious entrepreneur in ‘De Uitverkorene’ (2006). He received his fourth Golden Calf for his role in Theu Boermans' television drama 'De Prooi' (2013). He previously won this prize for 'Leedvermaak', 'Cloaca' and 'De Belager’. Nowadays, Pierre performs in various film, TV and theater productions in The Netherlands, as well as at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in Germany.
