Primary education
At ITA, we create a world in which children are researchers and designers. Our motto: don't teach children art, teach them to think like an artist. Being an artist is about curiosity, seeing different perspectives and making connections. Using a constructive syllabus, designed for primary education, we work on learning how to think like an artist. This includes various performances, workshops and guided tours, as well as educational material. All to stimulate children's fantasy, appeal to their imagination and spark curiosity, so as to learn to act more on their own initiative and think for themselves. Having a rich imagination helps in this development. We would love to hear how we can help you and your students align our programme with your curriculum. Come to ITA, where you will learn to think, dare, dream and do.
For group 5/6 & 7/8
MAAK
MAAK sparks students into action. During a MAAK workshop, we come together to create, play, write and philosophise. Following a theatrical introductory scenario, we let children explore themselves and the world. This workshop is all about personal development and the experience. ITA Academy's art teacher will be the inspirer/guide of the pupil's creative process.
The aim is primarily to unlock and harness the imagination. Because children are highly imaginative, but they are not asked about their imagination or encouraged to use it often enough. During MAAK, children are challenged to step outside the comfort zone of their own familiar thoughts. To surprise themselves and not just worry about whether an answer is 'right' or ‘wrong’. Join us as we soar beyond the confines of our minds!
